The Department of Education’s Promise Neighborhoods Planning and Implementation Grants  made a big splash when they first appeared in 2010, and the program has grown significantly since then. One big reason for its success is that Promise Neighborhoods helps bridge the gap between school and home life for students in distressed urban and rural neighborhoods.

Join Grants Office CEO Michael Paddock and special guests from Cisco as we review the application requirements for Promise Neighborhoods, highlight some successful funded projects, and discuss technology resources that can help extend the reach of schools and community organizations in support of their young constituents.

Innovation is a topic that is frequently on the minds of educators and school administrators and often appears in Board minutes and State Education Department Plans, but in spite of their potential to transform the educational landscape for students, innovative projects can be risky and expensive – not something the district voters will always support.

Join Grants Office CEO Michael Paddock and special guests from Cisco for strategies to leverage outside funding and bring cutting edge educational approaches to your school community, as well as some examples of technologies that have demonstrated impact in a variety of educational settings.

The Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Centers program has grown from a small federal pilot program to a billion dollar a year state pass-through grant. Join Grants Office and special guests from Cisco, as we discus:

* The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program

* Examples of past funded projects

* A sampling of state 21ct Century grant requirements

* Tips for building a successful community learning center, including integrating technology into the project

* Resources available to help you make the most of this and other educational funding opportunities

We will also take a few minutes on this webcast for a first look at the Race to the Top: District Competition open now with a deadline of  October 30, 2012! Learn more about RttT-D at http://www.grantsoffice.com/GrantDetails.aspx?gid=33521
